Hello and thanks for stopping by. Here's a little something to give you a better idea of HidyAphrodite the person.

I have two grown daughters and I am very proud of them both. In October 2005, my oldest daughter married adding a son-in-law to the family and on July 23, 2008, at 7:40 and 7:41 a.m., identical twin grandsons, Cash and Carter, joined the tribe (see Blog). Currently my household consists of me, three dogs, a kitty cat and a bird with an attitude. I also have fairies, angels and other such things living in my backyard and I have the pictures to prove it! You can check them out in the GARDEN SPOT.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, puttering around my home, greenhouse and gardens, hanging out on the internet selling stuff and tweaking my different sites and blogs, cooking and entertaining, photography, publishing and editing, music and dancing like nobody is watching. Oh, and of course, communing with the wee folk living in my backyard.

If you read the first entry to my Blog on this site you'll find out how HidyAphrodite's Closet came about. I started out with eBay and would probably still be operating from there if they hadn't priced me (and other small storekeepers) out of their league. In the Spring of 2006, they ceased to include our store merchandise in searches essentially killing sales for me. In July as I struggled to keep afloat it was announced there would be yet another fee increase levied on store subscription and merchandise fees. Hum, let's see, I was paying them to hide my merchandise from the buying public already and now they were going to charge me more for the privilege, be restricted as to what I could say in the forums and in my listings (for example, I got reprimanded 3 times in one day for saying "free site" in forum posts), and at the same time fend off hackers and scammers and hijackers because their security is dreadfully lacking -- something was definitely wrong with this picture!

I did so love my first HidyAphrodite's Closet and it was with a very heavy heart that I clicked to close my eBay store on August 14, 2006, and haven't looked back. I love the process of selling and enjoy interacting with all of my customers. My beef was with eBay "management" and I do feel very betrayed by them. Yes, they definitely have more traffic than any other e-commerce site at this time but when they are hiding your merchandise from that traffic flow it is of no consequence.

This journey has really been an education and I now know a lot about a lot of stuff I wouldn't have otherwise such as meta tags, html, hyperlinks and blogging. I've had to teach myself every step of the way so the going has been slow and tedious but I feel so accomplished afterward. There are no accidents in this Universe -- I am right where I'm suppose to be and doing the very thing I am meant to be doing. And so are you.
